I’m Dana, the heart behind Dana Stephenson Photo. Based in the Des Moines area, I specialize in capturing natural, emotion-driven imagery for families, couples, and weddings. My work is rooted in connection - the quiet in-between moments, the laughter that can’t be posed, and the kind of memories you don’t realize you’ll miss until they’re gone.
Life behind the camera is just as full as life in front of it. I’m a wife and mom of three little boys, and most days are a beautiful mix of chaos, creativity, and coffee. Becoming a mother changed the way I see everything - it made me slower to judge what a “perfect” photo is and more drawn to what feels real.
This work is deeply personal to me. I don’t just want to take your photo - I want to tell your story in a way that still feels like you years from now.
